Description
This vintage red lacquer lunch box has a two-tier design with hand-painted flower motifs on its sides and a wooden handle. The porcelain lid, depicting a pair of Chinese pheasants in a field of yellow Chrysanthemums, is a unique highlight. What makes it truly special is that the porcelain material on the lid has been repurposed from a Chinese porcelain vase, giving it an organic form with an asymmetrical touch. Due to this repurposing, each piece becomes distinct, and no two are alike.
In old China, lunch boxes like this were an essential item in every household. The multi-tiered design allowed for the storage of various dishes, making it easy to transport freshly cooked food to work sites or rice fields. Today, this lunch box can be used as a decorative piece or to store small everyday items.
Care
Please note that this product has an antiqued finish and any cleaning could alter its appearance and the patina on the product. Do not use damp cloth or any liquid to clean the patina earthware. A feather duster is recommended.
