Description
Guanyin means "one who hears the cries of the world." She is the bodhisattva of mercy, modesty, compassion, and wisdom. In the Buddhist tradition, Guanyin is an enlightened soul and no longer needs to reincarnate. However, it is said that while Guanyin was ascending into the spirit world, she heard the cries of the suffering humans. A compassionate soul, she chose to remain in the physical world to help other beings attain enlightenment. As a protector of children, Guanyin is sometimes depicted flanked by two children. The two children are her acolytes who came to her when she was meditating at Mount Putuo. The girl is called
Longnu and the boy Shancai. This small statue will not only serve as a perfect collectible but will also bring a lot of good luck and fortune.
Care
Regular dusting with a microfiber cloth is sufficient. For recesses and hard to get areas, use a soft bristle brush. To remove excessive dirt or grime, combine warm water with a mild soap.
